England’s U16s started their EU Nations U17s campaign with a narrow 7-5 (2-0, 2-1, 2-1, 1-3) defeat to Scotland.
A strong finish and battling performance for our young players, who were competing against older and more experienced teams here in Prague.

England’s U16s sensationally beat Denmark 14-7 (2-2, 4-0, 4-4, 4-1) in Prague at the EU Nations.
The strong performance was the perfect response to the morning’s defeat to Scotland and sees England finish top of Group C on goal difference.
England will now go into Saturday’s crossovers against Austria and Belgium full of confidence, 12.50pm start (UK time).
Disciplined in defence, and clinical in front of goal, England pulled away in the second quarter against Denmark before a powerful finish ensured a memorable victory
What a performance! England U16s lose out to Austria 8-7 (3-0, 0-1, 0-2, 5-4) here at the EU Nations, but they deserved so much more.
Despite a poor first quarter, Phil Powell’s young side battled back strongly to give the Austrians a real scare.
A fantastic team effort, with all the players giving their all and they were so close to completing a stunning turnaround. Well played, lads
Game 4 ENG v BEL March 24th
England U16s put in another strong performance here at the EU Nations, but lose out 14-11 (4-5, 3-1, 4-1, 3-4) to a more experienced Belgium.
Phil Powell’s young players started and finished the stronger side and were unfortunate to be behind going into the third quarter.
Fantastic experience for our young side as we build towards next year’s European Championships
Bring on the tournament favourites South Africa tomorrow.
Game 5 RSA v ENG March 25th

Lots of positives to take from their first international competition, with some excellent performances and the highlight being topping Group C.
Congratulations to all the squad and coaches, as finishing fourth out of 12 is a huge achievement, and many thanks for all the support out here in Prague and back home 👍💪
