Regional Academy Competitions are coming! - November 1, 2016

The new Water Polo Performance Pathway is beginning to take shape with the first of the Regional Academy Competitions or RACs scheduled to take place at Walsall Gala Baths on the weekend of 26th and 27th November, with the second and third RACs taking place in Northampton on 25th and 26th Feb 2017, and then again in Walsall on 27th and 28th May 2017.

Each of the 7 ASA regions; NW, Midlands, SW, SE, NE, East and London will put forward 6-10 athletes  at U14 and U16 level who will compete together in gender-specific events over the 3 weekends.

A couple of important points to note are that RACs are not inter-regional competitions, but rather competitions between the best athletes as nominated by the Regions. Inter-regional competition is separate and will continue on an annual basis. Additionally while players on the national junior squads are encouraged to train with Regional Academies, they are not eligible to play in the RACs.
