As the preliminary rounds of the water polo competition at the World University Games Taipei 2017 come to an end and we look forward to the classification stages, it’s a good time to reflect on the enormous help which our universities have given our individual student athletes on their journey to Taipei.
Many of the universities in Great Britain provide sports scholarships and related help to their outstanding athlete students including our polo players, and we recognise the benefits of their assistance and are grateful to them all.
However what has been particularly noteworthy in connection with the World University Games Taipei 2017 event, and for which, on behalf of the players, we would like to publicly thank the universities and colleges concerned, has been the additional financial help provided by some select institutions which has made the players’ participation possible.
In no particular order we would like to thank the following universities and colleges for their very generous financial assistance towards meeting the costs of their students attending the Games:
Sheffield Hallam; Brooke Tafazolli, Tom Grieve, Elliot Kelly & Peter Pickford
