The England squad for the England v Scotland Senior Men’s exhibition game has been chosen by Head Coach, Tim Dunsbee. Timed to take place during the GBR U17 junior men’s LEN European Championships Qualification event in Manchester at the MAC on Saturday May 4th at 2:20pm , the England v Scotland men’s match should be an exciting encounter.
On announcing the England squad which will be playing in Manchester, Tim told us, “With the news earlier this year that Swim England required, “up to £9k from each player” to fund a European qualifier campaign many of the key senior players retired from the squad. Today’s team is a “young England” squad with all the players working towards the World University Games in Italy, beginning 30th June.
The W.U.G.s has given us a focus for this season however going forward it is difficult to see what priorities the senior squad can focus on. The possibility of a Commonwealth Championship in 2020 could help but without a commitment to a European Championships qualification campaign it is definitely a difficult time for the squad.”
The England Senior Men’s squad to face Scotland will be
Connor Carpenter
Michael Cousins
Lewis Daly
Jordan Elliot
Dylan Green
Joel Leighton
Dan Paddon, Captain
Michael Patterson
Peter Pickford
Rudi Polster
John Pratt
Cam Richards
Chris Sturtevant
Isaac Wass
Aaron Winstanley
Good luck guys!
