Great Britain’s development squad have finished their first round of matches of the Danube Water Polo League.
An excellent first weekend away, lots of improvement shown, and Nick Buller and Peggy Etiebet’s team concluded their time in Serbia with a huge result in their final game on Sunday in which they recovered from 4-1 down after the 1st quarter and 6-3 at halftime to earn a 10-10 draw with Red Star Belgrade.
Red Star’s professional players included recruits from Greece and a centre forward from the Cuban National team.
Team co-captain Katy Cutler commented, “This weekend proved it was the right level for us. The team enjoyed playing hard games because we felt it challenged us to play our best and improve.”
