Welcome to our November England Water Polo Club News -

Welcome to our November Water Polo News. It has been another busy month with many teams involved in BWPL action as well as other tournaments and competitions. We do our best to capture as many events as we can but if your club is involved in an event or special project do let us know (see details at the end).

City of Manchester Men’s First Team made an impressive start to the defence of their BWPL Division I title beating last year’s runners up, Cheltenham, 11-7. However, the tables were turned the next day when the team suffered a rare and shock defeat to Polytechnic. City of Manchester were ahead at the start of quarter 4 but Polytechnic played exceptionally well and took the match 10-9.

In other competitions, Enfield saw off strong competition from Colchester (1st and 2nd teams), Cambridge and the Old Stortfordians to win the Old Stortfordians Water Polo Tournament. Well done!

Enfield…someone’s happy!

London Swimming organised an under 12 tournament at Whitgift School. These events give a fantastic opportunity for younger players to develop their skills and they are great fun as well! Hillingdon youngsters certainly had a good time.

  1. Hi,
It would be fantastic if you could include in your December newsletter an article about the awarding of a life membership of our club to Richard Thynne. Perhaps a few words about the Cit of Plymouth Lamb Trophy event held on Saturday as well. Please visit our Facebook page for reports and photos.
    Kind regards,
