Great Britain’s U19s have returned from Malta after a successful training camp ahead of this weekend’s LEN Qualification Tournament in Manchester.
The tour included an 8-8 draw with their Maltese counterparts, which saw them concede no goals from man-down during the whole match.
With decisions going against them, the GB players should feel buoyant about their dogged defence – and on Sunday they played a 3-man up game in Neptune’s pool and conceded only one goal from 15 man-ups.
With that kind of defence, the coaching staff started to push on with offensive drills and the U19s looked comfortable in their victory against the hosts in the afternoon.
On Monday, the players took part in their final training sessions in the international pool before returning home with their confidence high.
