The England U19 men’s squad got together this weekend for their final training camp before they go head to head with Scotland and Denmark U21s & City of Manchester Senior Men in the forthcoming EU Nations water polo tournament next Saturday and Sunday, Nov 18 & 19.
After a 2 hour strength and conditioning session at the Manchester Institute of Health and Performance and an afternoon training session, Saturday night saw them take on current National League leaders Solihull.
The game was a dramatic and physical encounter with both sides keen to dominate, and the England U19 team showed cohesion and drive, coming good just in time for the tournament. One of the players commented; “we are very grateful to the Solihull team for travelling up to Manchester…they gave us a tough test, which is just what we needed.” The team is raring to go next week at Manchester Aquatics Centre, and confident that they will come out on top.
